Snap Inc Mentoring Programme 2021
Snap is partnering with the BYP Network to provide mentors to members of the community in 2021. Almost 80 employees from across Snap’s international organisation have committed to mentoring emerging Black professionals looking for support to advance their careers.
The scheme will run from February to October 2021, with a one-hour monthly commitment. Mentors work across the teams across Europe, Middle East and APAC regions and include individuals from the sales, engineering, content, partnerships, legal, finance and creative strategy teams. Applications open today here on the BYP website.
“We are thrilled to launch this mentoring programme. Some of the best professional and personal advice I’ve ever received came from mentors - it’s such a valuable relationship to be able to have. We know how hard it can be to find one and so it’s exciting to have so many members of the team at Snap committed to supporting members of the Black community,” - Tobi Ruth Adebekun, Communications Manager and SnapNoir Europe Lead.
The programme will revolve around three key themes - Personal, Professional and Community - an opportunity for mentees to focus on not just their personal or professional development, but also how they can contribute and be part of their industries at large. The hope is that the mentoring scheme will also foster long-term relationships between mentors and mentees.
The applicants will be reviewed by members of SnapNoir Europe - Snap’s employee resource group for Black employees. Matches will be made based on industry, aims and interests.
